Angela Ty

Audit Partner, KPMG LLP

Angela is an audit partner based in KPMG’s San Francisco office where she specializes in the alternative investment industry.  She has over 15 years of experience advising alternative investment companies, including investment advisors, hedge funds, venture capital funds, venture debt funds, and funds of funds, on initial organizational structure, audit process and the management of operational matters. Angela is the GTM cross-functional partner lead for our Hedge Fund industry group which focuses on quality growth in the Hedge Fund industry and bringing value-add thought leadership and events to the industry.

Angela’s experience in the alternative investments space includes nearly seven years with Rothstein Kass prior to its acquisition by KPMG in June 2014. Prior to Rothstein Kass, she began her career in the Financial Services Group of Deloitte & Touche, LLP in San Francisco.  Angela is actively involved in the alternative investment industry, seeking new business opportunities, developing business relationships and making connections. Angela has hosted several networking and educational events with clients, prospects and other members of the industry. Angela is in charge of the Bay Area Alternative Investments resource allocation team, allocating over 200 engagements across approximately 150 team members.

Angela enjoys participating in speaking opportunities, including industry panels and leadership conferences. Some key highlights of recent market activity for Angela include:  

  • Moderated panel discussions on regulatory and other trends impacting the AI industry at a number of conferences including: Women in Private Equity Summit, KPMG Hedge Fund Symposium, ACA’s Annual Conference, Partner Connect Conference.
  • Organizes and leads KPMG’s Bay Area networking event for women in the Alternative Investments space (30+ clients and prospects).  
  • Organizes and leads peer to peer discussions for CFOs/CCOs/COO/s in the AI industry discussing specific matters impacting the industry
  • Organizes and leads KPMG’s annual Hedge Fund Symposium
  • Featured in an article, “Networking with Purpose”, Diversity Woman Magazine, Winter 2018 Issue
