Caroline Paul

Caroline Paul is the author of six books, including the New York Times bestseller The Gutsy Girl, Escapades for Your Life of Epic Adventure, which uses stories from her own life to inspire girls to embrace bravery and move outside their comfort zones. Caroline flies experimental planes, has been on sea kayak expeditions in wild waters from Alaska to Baja, and has explored remote rivers by raft in Siberia and Borneo.

She was one of the first women in the San Francisco Fire Department, a career she documented in her memoir, Fighting Fire.

She is a member of the Writers Grotto, a literary community and workspace in San Francisco where she wrote Lost Cat, A True Story of Love, Desperation, and GPS Technology, named a Best Book by Jezebel and Brainpickings. Her latest is You Are Mighty, A Guide to Changing the World, an illustrated book for middle graders that teaches civic engagement and activism.

Her TED talk on teaching bravery to girls has almost two million views.
