More than 5,500 women and men attended the 26th Annual PBWC Conference, a day that was marked by a sold-out crowd, a wealth of active networking and social media engagement, a vibrant Expo Marketplace, and most of all the inspiring stories of our power-packed speaker lineup.
Thank you to Leeza Gibbons, Leymah Gbowee, Sallie Krawcheck, Carolyn Buck Luce, and the many talented seminar speakers and thought leaders who made Tuesday’s event both invaluable and unforgettable.
Thank you also to our incredible sponsors and media partners.
Most of all, we would like to extend our gratitude to PBWC Founder, Congresswoman Jackie Speier, who continues to guide and champion our community as we pursue a more equitable workplace and world.
At the conference, PBWC continued its close partnership with the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University. Live polling at the conference allowed attendees to collectively make personal and professional commitments for the future.
To help transform attendee commitments into actions, Clayman’s sociologists are now compiling support materials, resources and information to be posted shortly on our newly redesigned website, pbwc.org. Soon, PBWC will unveil an “Equity Dashboard” of several key statistical measures related to women in the workplace.
On Tuesday, the PBWC Conference audience amassed more than $47,308 in pledges to the PBWC Scholarship Fund! 100% of the money goes toward academic scholarships to help send young women to college, and your support ensures the continuation of this critically important work. If you haven’t done so already, please revisit your text message to fulfill your pledge, or donate now at pbwc.org/donate. Help PBWC to reach its 2015 scholarship goal of $50,000.
