Betsy Sutter joined VMware in January 2001 and has led all aspects of VMware’s people strategies, bringing more than 30 years of human resources leadership. Sutter is responsible for hiring, developing and retaining the best and brightest people as VMware has grown from 100 to more than 15,000 employees.
During her tenure at VMware, Sutter has helped shape the culture and employee experience while driving a commitment to service and learning programs in the community. Sutter has overseen the successful acquisition of more than 25 companies and has built a world-class recruiting and staffing organization. Sutter has also developed an ever-evolving human resources service organization along with innovative expertise centers and a strategic human resources business partner organization.
Prior to VMware, Sutter held senior management roles at Silicon Gaming, Aehr Test Systems, Digital Equipment Corporation, General Electric and Intersil.
Sutter holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of California, Berkeley.
